What is CIAM?
The Integral Senior Citizen Care Center (CIAM) promotes the physical, mental and social well-being of the elderly through services, programs, workshops and occupational activities. It works in coordination with public and private institutions to promote healthy aging and improve their quality of life.

What are the requirements for registration?
According to article 5 of the LAW OF THE ELDERLY PERSON N°30490, they are the following:
- To be at least 60 years old.
- Copy of ID card
- 2 photographs: 1 photo for the ID card and 1 photo for the registration form.
- Proof of residence (copy of electric or water bill)
Who is considered a senior citizen?
Older adults are those who are 60 years of age or older, according to national legislation. There are situations of risk that affect their rights to life, health, integrity, dignity, equality and social security, among which are poverty, abuse, violence, abandonment and dependence. Age discrimination also generates conditions of inequality that prevent them from continuing to participate actively in society.
What are the rights of the elderly?
a) A dignified, full, independent, autonomous and healthy life.
b) Non-discrimination on grounds of age and not to be subjected to pejorative image.
c) Equal opportunities.
d) Receive comprehensive and integrated attention, care and family and social protection, according to their needs.
e) To live in a family and grow old at home and in the community.
f) A life free of any type of violence..
g) Access to education and training programs.
h) To participate actively in the social, labor, economic, cultural and political spheres of the country.
i) Preferential attention in all services provided in public and private establishments.
j) Adequate and timely information in all procedures carried out.
k) To perform work or tasks in accordance with their physical or intellectual capacity.
l) To give their prior informed consent in all aspects of their lives.
m) Comprehensive health care and participate in the health care process by health personnel, through active, proactive and empathetic listening, allowing you to express your needs and concerns.
n) Access to appropriate conditions of confinement when deprived of liberty.
ñ) Access to justice.
What is good treatment of the elderly?
It refers to the way to stimulate and promote a healthy coexistence, based on tolerance, respect and recognition as persons subject to rights. Giving and receiving a good treatment has no age limit, it is the positive way of relating and living in dignified conditions.
The recognition of the role of the elderly and their work over the years is significant and important for them, as it motivates them to continue contributing with their knowledge and skills to society.
